Nicole Farrell grew up in Quebec,Canada, the 10th child in a family of 17 children, before the family moved to Southern California in 1962.
She lived in San Diego, and had a karaoke business for over 15 years She’s has numerous Awards as Top Entertainer throughout these years.
She also sang at 8 different Nursing Homes monthly, cheering the residents and the staff..
A freak accident at a retail shop where she worked ended that career!.
Recovering from those injuries, She and her Husband John moved to Menifee/Sun City in 2007. As she was slowly recuperating from her accident 8 months later she was diagnosed with breast cancer had a mastectomy with major complication which scared her whole chest.. 10 months later she was diagnosed with a brain tumor She had a long bout of radiation. In the spam of 2 years she’s had 8 surgeries. She lost hearing on her right side and has severe vertigo due to her brain tumor.
I felt that I had no purpose in life one surgery after an other. Not being able to do my entertainment, moving in a senior community was a big challenge as well.
However in the back of her mind Nicole would always remember what she had heard at one of the Real Estate Seminar she had attended, “You Have to Circulate to Percolate”
Robbie Motter, member of Menifee/ Sun City Women’s Club and NAFE asked Nicole if she wanted to join the Menifee/Sun City Women s Club. At first Nicole was reluctant and she’d tell Robbie I have nothing to offer your Club.” I ve been in hibernation for over 5 years, one operation after an other. I can t hardly carry a conversation anymore.
Well she did joined! Little did she know she had a whole lot to offer. She is doing a lot of volunteer work in the community one of them is Women Against Child Trafficking, She is knitting a dolls without a mouth. The young person receiving the” Tell me Doll”/as a friend, can share their secrets and joys with it. The Doll, not having a mouth assure them they wont repeat what they hear. She is also volunteer as a Public Relation for Michelle’s Place a Breast Cancer Resource Center in Temecula. Nicole was also on the committee for one of the Menifee/Sun City Women’s Club ShowApril 28th 2012 “ An Afternoon In Paris” where she help decorate the big Hall, she also shared her talent by singing some French songs for them..
She became a steady customer at the Fundraiser Women against Child Trafficking ACT Fundraiser, Karaoke show twice a month. She now does the show at Boston Billie. She also does volunteer work at health Fair sharing information for Michelle’s Place Breast Cancer resource in Temecula California..
Nicole still has a lot of symptoms from her Tumor and is still getting issue with her Breast Cancer Reconstruction etc, Her vertigo is a daily thing. she doesn’t panic about that anymore like she said I learned to live with those symptoms, I’m moving forward! You do have to Circulate to Percolate You can’t just sit still and let the world pass you by. Be a participant, a contributor/ Don’t let the talent that God gave you go to waste share it!Life is good!
